As a Korean diaspora living in the United States, my existence is dictated by U.S. foreign policy.
Racial justice extends beyond domestic affairs, impacting those internationally who are subjugated under American hegemony. As both a Korean and an American citizen, how do I reconcile with the ongoing implications of the Korean War? How is racial justice for Asian Americans intersectional with justice for the demilitarization of U.S. troops from our motherlands? With mixed-media linoleum printing, digital text, photographic archives, and paint, I expose the emotional turmoil both Koreans and the Korean diaspora face due to our country's division and the continued presence of U.S. militaristic troops on our land.
